2017 is going to be a fantastic year for lawns. After a mild pleasant winter lawns will burst into life very soon in Spring and I for one can’t wait to get stuck in and enjoy the spring months.

What can you expect from this years lawn care program?

Spring

In the early season it is important to give the soil all the nutrients it can get hold of, and because there is plenty of moisture around we don’t have to worry about scorching. So we will be adding the perfect balance of Nitrogen, Phosphorous, Potassium, Magnesium and Calcium, it will also include small amounts of iron to deal with remaining moss.

Summer

During Summer we will be doing 2 treatments, one between June/July, and the other in August/September, usually about 8 weeks apart. During summer it is important that we use a no scorch fertiliser due to reduced moisture in the ground and potential droughts. For the last few years we have seen anotable rise in fungus during the summer months. So we will be offering customers a preventive fungicide treatment in June.

Autumn

At the end of the year the focus shifts to Moss control, as well as providing an excellent fertiliser to maximise final grass growth of the year, there are larger amounts of Iron included to strengthen grass roots and starve off the moss growth.

Options

To have a perfect lawn it is absolutely necessary to have Aeration & Scarification over the winter month, or just before spring starts. These treatments really make a massive difference to the lawn and you can read about these here.
